June 2020

Brighter days are right this way.

Happiness. Hope. Joy. Confidence.

A smile has the power to deliver all that and so much more.

In a world where things are ever changing, smiles connect us more than ever. At Water Brook Dental, we’re taking proactive steps so that patients, care teams and communities have a safe, clean caring environment for all their dental needs.

Read our full promise of health and safety protocols here. We look forward to seeing you!

Water Brook Dental will resume providing elective and routine dental care the week of June 22, 2020 in accordance with the Executive Order issued by District of Columbia’s Mayor Bowser. Our number one priority continues to be the safety and well being of our patients, doctors and team members. While this has always been the case, it obviously becomes even more important in the midst of dealing with a global pandemic. In spite of this situation, our clinics are very well prepared to face this challenge.

Our doctors and team members have worked extensively to ensure your safety and well-being while in our care. We want to ensure that you feel comfortable visiting us at your next appointment.

Water Brook Dental is already implementing stringent infection control practices as demonstrated by our up-to-date procedures long before COVID-19 and we want to reassure patients they continue to be an important part of our daily routines.

Because of the COVID-19 virus, we will be implementing additional protocols to protect all those who step in our Clinics. The protocols are based on guidance issued by the CDC, OSHA, the District of Columbia Board of Dentistry.

Here are some of the new procedures you can expect:

  • Prior to an appointment, we will ask every patient a series of health screening questions and we’ll take their temperature. If a patient is not feeling well or has an elevated temperature, we will ask them to reschedule their appointment.
  • We will request that all visitors wear a mask or any face covering to their appointment
  • We will ask each patient to complete a screening document, this is required by the Local Board of Dentistry.
  • We will ask that patients come alone to their appointments. The exceptions are parents/guardians accompanying children, people providing emotional/physical support and interpreters
  • Frequent sanitation of countertops, door handles, furniture and restrooms
  • Option to wait in the car available
  • Sterile devices and instruments
  • Clean and disinfected environmental surfaces
  • We will require patients to wash their hands before and after their appointment.
  • Pre-procedural mouth rinses
  •  all patients will be given an antimicrobial mouth rinse before their dental cleaning or procedure.
  • We will request that all visitors maintain a 6-feet distance from others while in the practice.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you as well as to reduce the number of patients in our office at any given time.
  • Doctors and team members may wear additional personal protective equipment, such as face shields during exams/treatment.

We ask that if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, please call 202-618-4910 to reschedule your appointment.

Finally, we have always taken pride in our office infection control procedures and will continue to do so. Please be patient with us during this time as we implement these additional safety precautions.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

March 2020

Dear Patients and Water Brook Dental Community,

Due to COVID-19, as declared by the District of Columbia Mayor, Water Brook Dental is required by Executive Order as well as guidance issued by the District of Columbia Board of Dentistry and the CDC to suspend all non-emergency and elective dental services, effective immediately.

Are you a patient experiencing a dental emergency? We are here for you!

The health and well-being of our patients, doctors, team members, and the communities that we serve continues to remain our top priority. If you are an existing Water Dental patient and you are experiencing a dental emergency, please contact us. Our phones are being answered and team members are available to answer your questions and provide instructions for receiving emergency treatment. For your safety and the safety of health care providers, please do not visit an urgent care clinic or an emergency room for your dental care needs.

If you have an upcoming appointment, a team member will be reaching out to reschedule. Again, if you have questions, please feel free to call us. Our phones remain open and a team member will be happy to assist you and answer any questions.

We thank all of our patients, doctors, and team members for their patience and understanding during these uncertain times. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Your oral health is extremely important to us and we look forward to the opportunity to care for you again in the near future.
